XD
Well beta is after alpha which is first, so I guess beta means second or something...I'm not too great with the greek alphabet or whatever.
But ANYWAY beta-ing is proofreading other people's works. Sorta like how a teacher does with your essay, cept when someone betas your stuff, they're not giving you a grade.

Oh, hokay...
I trust another person as well as I trust a computer to do it-
Or wait, I wouldn't really rely on others to proofread my shat... :\

I should probably get a beta but it takes me so long to write and post it as it is, it would just take too long to have them beta-ed. I'm not that quick.

I'll do it starbright, if you want, and no offense, you um, well, um... um... aren't a very good one.
No rush luna, and I rather you do it well, then rush.
and if you don't really trust anyone and am afraid of mistakes, I suggest you get a really good beta viljo. Make sure they don't make any mistakes or miss any. I can do it, I guess. I edit better then when I type on here so don't worry.

Yeah, that's why I offered. I don't know why I dragged that in, but Well hinting she should beta until she practice more, somehow.

Either way, even if you didn't mean to be rude, it was rude to just say that in the post for everyone to see. That part could have been pmed to her.
Do you mean she SHOULDN'T beta until she practices more? In your post you said "she should beta".

I don't know why I did it actually.

Yeah, I'm the "not quite good enough beta" she mentioned earlier. In my defence it is the first time I've tried to beta anything. Though just now I had an idea which might help though. Also I haven't written ANY proper stories/poems in over 10 months due to media studies. Oh dear, it sounds like I'm making excuses now. And stargazer, I'll try and get better and practice for you.

I was okay for my first time only because I do crits all the time! So, I definitely practice, and starbright, that's how you get it. I wasn't expecting to be perfect, but surprisingly yeah! I scrub at your work pretty well! I hate thems zmistakes! and starbright, practice makes perfect!
I haven't wrote in like um over six months, because of this stupid cloning expedition. This damn guy known as Kaiser Scott on ff.net likes to do that. So, he made a duplicate of me. Damn that was a hell of a stupid move. I got upset for some damn shitty reason though, which was silly. Before school was stressful, and I couldn't write. I am trying to get back in to it, but the last one I wrote was awful. Lol! I left all of the emotions out! Rofl!

Well everyone's writing style is different, right? Where I put a comma, or a semi-colon, might vary from where you think it's best to go.

Like where grammatically a comma or semi-colon should go, it wouldn't particularly matter what kind of style the writer uses, you know?
If either one could be used, then it's up to the writer, but when it should have been one or the other, then yeah, you should correct it in those situations.[/b]

But I figure there would be disagreement, no matter what the beta says.
Wherever a comma goes, which makes sense to the writer, might not make sense to the beta. But what about others?? What if they say, "Hey, that comma is right, there..."?? :\
