But I figure there would be disagreement, no matter what the beta says.
Wherever a comma goes, which makes sense to the writer, might not make sense to the beta. But what about others?? What if they say, "Hey, that comma is right, there..."?? :\ Of course there can be disagreement. That goes without saying. However, if a grammar rule says something, if you don't follow it, regardless of whether you think the way you did it is right, it's wrong.
And what? I dun think I understand your last line...
Also, I wanted to add my opinion on the way one should beta. I think it's a better learning experience for the writer who's work is being beta-ed, if the beta points out all the mistakes and tells the writer that this or that is wrong and explains why it is wrong. Then afterwards the writer themself corrects it, not the beta.
Also the beta can add suggestions for things to add or change plot wise and such or sentence structure wise, in cases when the sentence structure isn't grammatically incorrect. The writer can of course turn down or accept these, as they are suggestions. I don't think the beta should be so actively in the writer's writing that they are rewriting any part of it.
This way, it's not the beta rewriting everything for the writer. It's not much of a learning experience if the beta just rewrites everything. That's like redoing someone's homework for them after they have shown it to you for correction. You don't learn anything from it.[/b]

Yes...I know. I mentioned something along those lines here: [/b] Also the beta can add suggestions for things to add or change plot wise and such or sentence structure wise, in cases when the sentence structure isn't grammatically incorrect. The writer can of course turn down or accept these, as they are suggestions. I don't think the beta should be so actively in the writer's writing that they are rewriting any part of it. [/b][/quote]

And you spread it very well. Haha well thank you.
Only thing I am unreliable on is getting back to people with their beta-ed work >< Unless they make me do it right then and there lol.
If I am busy at the moment, you're gonna have to bug me over and over later to get it done when I don't have anything to do, cuz I'll either forget about it or just feel too lazy to do it without being prompted XD. [/b]

If anyone needs a Beta, I'm available. I'm majoring in Journalism and I want to be an Editor, so I hope that means you guys can see that I know what I'm doing.

Yeah, and where is my story...? I thought I sent it to you.
Starbright, I want to look your chapter once more, and for you stuff it's real easy because you have extremely short chapters. I was going to send you something anyways..
I am still sorta of avillable, I tend not to beta, because I forget, but yes, I can do it. Send it by p.m. or else I might not get it, because er... I don't like checking my e-mail, It's not easy as before, but I should get in the habit. It's definitely easiest by p.m. though.
