I been meaning to post this for awhile. A classmate of mine in high school was raving one day when school had let out and we were waiting for our rides about how bisexuality didn't exist and people who claimed to be bi were simply greedy for both genders.
I didn't agree with her but since she's one of those people who don't really listen to your argument against her crazy ideas, I didn't say anything.
I do think that people can genuinely be attracted to both genders and are not just faking it to be "cool" or "trendy" or whatever.
But what about kids, 14 & 15 and such claiming to be bi? Can you really decide that at such a young age? At first I adamantly believed that, no you can't at that age, but then I rethought it and put it into a different perspective. Being bi is the same as being...straight. So if a 14 year old girl can know she likes guys, then she can also know she likes girls too, right?
So what do you think? Discuss bisexuality and such.[/b]

I figured it out when I was in...8th grade, I do believe. I told one of my very best friend's I was bi, then held it in for a few years from the other people I knew in real life.
Later I eventually came out with it, and everyone seemed okay with it. One of my cousin's in Illinois was looking at my MySpace profile, for no apparent reason, and say my orientation. She told my mom on my 18th birthday (Last year), and that's how basically my whole family knows. My father is the only one who is oblivious to it. I have no idea what he'd say. Maybe he'll shrug it off, or think that I'm joking and deny it. But he...isn't a big fan of homosexual people, to say the least. That is why I am withholding it.
I think I need to be more sure of myself. I...think I prefer males to females, but there's some sexual attraction to both.
Of course, I also label myself as "asexual", which wouldn't make any sense...

If he...disowns you or something because you're bi then he's not a very understanding person. I mean, you like guys too so it's not like he'll never become a grandfather, you know?
Either way, I think a lot of teenies claim to be bi cuz they've (as a female themselves) kissed another female and automatically thought, oh well that makes me bi then! It doesn't work that way. -_-[/b]

I'm...not having kids. EVER. Not getting married, either. Also, he's already a grandfather, from his sons and my sister. Tho she's not blood related...and he never talks to his two sons...
Yeah, that's basically it. It's not just WHAT you do, you go through it mentally, too. A question you have to ask yourself is, "Can I see myself with him/her?" Especially when you find yourself in love...or lust, I do suppose.

Yeah, that's basically it. It's not just WHAT you do, you go through it mentally, too. Of course. People who just claim to be bi as a passing phase are just insulting homo and bisexuals everywhere. Sexuality is not a phase, it's something you're stuck with your whole life.[/b]

You're either born with it or you basically come to terms in deciding it.

my ex-girlfriend thinks she's bi, but i don't think she knows what she's talking about, really. because she's been saying that for only about a few months now, and you kind of have to have it your whole life. and it's not like she's been trying to figure it out for a while, because a year ago she stictly said she's NOT bi.

She ever express distaste for gay or bisexual people of any gender, before?
"You kind of have to have it your whole life"? Well, not necessarily. Sometimes, you have to think about it. And some people have to discover it themselves It could be any age, which I think around the teenage years are the most common for kids these days to come out as either "gay" or "bisexual".
But, with your doubts, she may be faking it. Maybe she wants attention- Who knows...?

There was a phase at my school with a ton of people in my year saying they were bi. I think some of them may actually be, but I think a number of them said they were just because they thought it was the "in" thing to do. I personally think it is possible, but some people say they are when they don't really mean it.

Yeah, and when you're young, it's hard to really know if it's just a phase or if it's really genuine because of people you mentioned above: thinking it was "in" to be bi.
Rageandlove, what has you convinced you're bi? I'm not trying to deny that you might be, but you never know, it could be a phase [/b]

But that's the problem- Some DON'T know what/who they want. They can't control their feelings ALL the time.
I think we'll say "bi-curious"- Deal...?
