[glow=blue,2,300] I want to make it my job to understand the human mind, Both on a chemical level, and Philosophical level.
So I started with trying to understand the general accepted point of view that is normality. What I've noticed is that most people want a day to go by where there are no problems. However another thing I've noticed is that this form of thinking comes with a HIGHLY negative drawback.
For instance, I'll go back to the time where my sister pulled a knife on me. My brother was there for the duration of the arguement. He heard what was being said between us, who threw the first swing, and when she pulle the knife on me. He chose to ignore the entire fight, and watch TV.
There was that time where this girl was raped and killed in New York a while back. I believe for the same reason my brother decided to ignore my arguement with my sister, is the same reason witnesses who saw what happened chose to ignore the incident. "If I ignore it, it is not happening."
I feel that this cannot continue. Cause this view has also caused those with the ability to help decide against it for being singled out.
Feel free to share your thoughts on the matter. [/glow]

they don't want to deal with the reality of a situation because it's uncomfortable. they'd rather preserve the status quo then help someone in need.

@2die:: Stop asking stupid questions. That's my job.
Something like rape is not on our people's agenda. Therefore we do not take the time to stop and acknowledge these things.

This is simply human nature in my opinion. Humans aren't unlike animals in any way really. If we live in a world where countries can't even accept others having different political or religious beliefs, you'll eventually have to no longer expect acts of bravery or any signs of individualism.
To help explain about the woman being raped and then killed, many times people often expect someone else do something (lack of the individual), so while everyone is looking around hoping someone else does something, no one does anything. And that's pretty much the facts of what's going through many people's minds in those situations.
I don't really agree that rape is something that's not on the agenda or just ignored, it can be anything, and people won't exactly ignore it (unless they fear for their own life, i.e. Jenny Likens), but they'll simply look at themselves as no one special enough to help, as if you have to be a special person to call 911 or lend a hand.

if people would just look out for one another a little more instead of worrying about themselves so much the world would be a better place. sadly there doesn't seem to be a place for such ideals in this world. sometimes it really don't think i belong here.

Fuck yeah! I'm contributing to destroying the earth!
God, I hate that guy...
However, I probably AM one of those who just ignores things. I know I am. Simply because I don't want to deal with whatever is going on. Then again, it really depends on what it is.

[glow=red,2,300] And that is where you and I differ then Viljo.
Lets say I was someone who happened to witness that girl being raped.
I can garuntee you that the assailant would be dead before he knew what hit him. Or I would. >.> [/glow]

Heh- If I witness a rape, I'll definitely do something about it...
Like I said, it depends on what it is, and the significance to me (Maybe I should reword that, but...bah).
