I personally hate smoking and wish it was banned. I know the reason lots of people smoke is to relieve stress, well frankly there are much better and less smelly ways to do that.
But I suppose as long as people don't smoke around me, I don't really care if they do. They can clog and blacken their lungs all they want. [/b]

It should stay legal
I hate smoking (The smell and...well, the smoke), but people are gonna do it no matter what. America is basically the country who does it most (I've lost all the smart words for the night).

BANNED!!!! IT SHOULD BE BANNED!!!!! Singapore for one has it banned! Do they have any reports of excessive lung cancer and lung difficulties? NO! Smoking is not good for out health! Our bodies weren't made to do it. So why do? Marijuana heals glaucoma my ass! Surely not by smoking!

American's will do whatever the fuck we want, ja?
We'll end up smoking in our houses, importing cigarettes from other countries... I don't think we need this happening.
These people smoke despite the health warning labels on the cigarette packaging.

[glow=black,2,300] I'm a supporter for smokers.
Lower the price, reduce the tax per box/carton, put cartoons on the packaging.
Not to mention I kind of like the smell. [/glow]

^He says he will when something completely nerve-raking and horrible comes up. Or sommit like that...
I don't understand how you could like the smell. My mom hates it, and she smokes. 'Sides, the price will never be lowered.

[glow=red,2,300] I've never found a reason to smoke, but that doesn't mean I won't at some point.
The smell I am refering to is cigar smoke.
Cigarette smoke is kind of offensive to my nostrils.
The thing that gets to me about the price is that the gov't has taxed the crap out of cigarettes because they can.
Not because it is a pitch to get people to stop smoking.
The price of gas going up was the same thing.
The owners of oil companies figured they would push the price to how far they could until people eventually said "NO" [/glow]

Cigars should be illegal, freaking lung cancer kills millions of people every year. Nicotine is like the 2nd most abused drug (after coffee). If its killing more people then other drugs. Why shouldn't it be illegaL?

Well, people have it in their heads that cigarettes and nicotine are stress-relievers. They believe it, and it's true for them.
Cigarettes are too big a market to be illegal here.

Absolutely not. Adults should have the right to choose whatever they do with their lives. In addition people do other self-destructive things like eating. For instance diet soda is worst than smoking? Should that be banned as well?

I really really doubt that diet soda is worse than smoking. Sure anything with diet in the title is most likely bad for you (even though its less fattening) but there's no way its worse than smoking.[/b]

I wish it were true, just to prove you wrong.
Oh wait- I wish it were true, just to laugh at people who buy it, 'coz there are a LOT.

It shouldnt be banned. Thats an absurd method of dealing with it. Anyone proposing this, obviously havent thought things thru, taking all factors into consideration.
90%+ of the people who are opposed to smoking, usually have the basis of their argument revolving around something of which can best be described as an incapability to identify with the smoker. This stems from intolerance slumped into simply finding it unacceptable.
Needless to say, this is not sound logic.
