A Day...Night in the Life
You stand there with a knife to my throat,
But you fail to realize,
That I am the wolf and you are the goat,
And that will lead to your demise,
You stand there thinking what do I mean,
Dwelling in a moment of doubt,
I'm not human but more of a fiend,
You'll see when I tear your heart out,
You lunge forward and your blade goes deep,
But I just stand there in a grin,
Notice through the wound blood does not seep,
Now my lamb it's my turn to begin,
With little force I push you five feet back,
With wide eyes you start to run,
I hold myself from immediate attack,
I want my night to be fun,
I wait until you are a block down the street,
And just before I give chase,
I hear how fast your heart beats,
You're such a shame to the human race,
You round a corner and run onto me,
You scream in terror I see,
But wait my prey the night is still young,
I want to toy with you, you little lamb,
My joy has just barely sprung,
Since you chose to confront the damned,
This time I wait half an hour,
And find myself a temporary feed,
I grimace for her blood was sour,
But some how I know yours is sweet,
It takes me ten minutes to find you,
And from one-hundred feet away,
I sense that your courage grew,
Now this is a game to play,
I walk in your direction,
I intentionally pass you up,
Know that your blade's not much protection,
Though I admire that you are tough,
I pass by your alley again,
I know where you are hiding,
You see me stare straight in,
See around the darkness residing,
I hear your heart beat faster again,
This is no fun so for now I abstain,
I wait an hour sitting by a grand clock,
Now the time is thirty past midnight,
My patience runs thin with the constant "tick tock,"
Will this be another boring night,
Another hour passes and you my prey run for cover,
I watch as you run further down the street,
Funny are you so terrified that you run into others,
But better that you don't admit defeat,
I trail you a ways, you are getting brave,
That you start calling out to me,
If it is a fight you crave,
I will accept your offer gladly,
As you turn I will appear,
So we will meet face to face,
And just to fill you with fear,
I will choose the place,
Shame the fight did not last long,
I was hoping for a challenge,
My good man I thought you were strong,
This disappointment fills me with rage,
But to the victor goes the spoils,
No reason for your blood to soil.

Another Night, Another Hunt
Upon your fallen corpse I am feeding,
But a scream from behind keeps me from kneeling,
Savoring upon the artery that was bleeding,
I rise to see a female fleeing,
Another hunt is about to unfold,
Instantly I am ecstatic with joy,
But two meals this night has me hold,
I am full and cannot play with this new toy,
Weeks pass and I have not seen her,
Silly me for not acting upon that opportunity,
So I sit in my home relaxing to myrrh,
And wait to go against your former impunity,
Evening arrives and I begin my search,
Morsels pack the streets but I long for you,
Back at the clock I perch,
While I look through this human zoo,
It is almost midnight before I catch your scent,
I will have to compliment you when I see your face,
The hunt begins and my patience well spent,
Now to find us a secluded place,
This street is empty so I shall make myself known,
Like any gentleman I am polite and courteous,
I will make small talk before my motive is shown,
Words deepen I see you become amorous,
It’s apparent that you forgot the night we met,
When you ask me if I would like a drink,
I say yes, the trap has been set,
I am getting closer to what I seek,
I comment that your home is quite lovely,
You deny that it is unclean from your trips,
I say nonsense before I stop your story abruptly,
And proceed to kiss you on the lips,
Instantly you become controlled by your lust,
And you start to lead me to your room,
Good because there is where I’ll betray your trust,
Then bring about your doom,
The dance tonight is that of skin,
The room is filled with moans escaping your breath,
In little time I’ll have you in a pin,
And this bed will spell your death,
I roll you to the bottom and gaze in your eyes,
Gently I grasp you by the palm,
With one last moan I see that I have my prize,
Now to disrupt the calm,
Swiftly I begin the attack,
My fangs easily penetrate your throat,
You struggle to get off your back,
But any chance you have is remote,
In due time your life begins to fade,
As your eyes begin to close,
I finish and your blood cascades,
It will be weeks before someone knows.

The Mercernary
I was a soldier in a noble army.
In a kingdom where chivalry was key.
But the war started, I was deployed,
I went to die for the country that I enjoyed.
I fought hard, my loyalty showed
I fought on foot, on horse I rode.
Then the day came, truth was revealed.
Corruption came from the weapon I wield.
My king was fueled by greed.
He wanted a bigger empire.
I could not proceed,
I could not serve under a liar.
I left my brothers, in the dead of night.
Hoping to stop my majesty's blight.
I am now a sword for hire.
My blade strikes with newfound ire.
I was paid two hundred pounds of gold.
To tell my old enemy everything that I know.
I revealed a weakness in my old stronghold.
To my king I said there were tunnels far below.
A new day had come, my commitment restored.
A paladin coming to smite his old lord.
New battles I fought, here on the side of right.
Striking fear into foes who were caught in my sight.
The side of just was beginning to win.
It appeared that I had atoned for my sins.
But to disbelief, we started to lose.
The tunnels were merely an old ruse.
I called for retreat, but my men pressed on.
And in the blink of an eye my troop was gone.
The war was lost, at a heavy cost.
Staggering casualties lay in the frost.
My will was shattered, evil had won.
The light of good had been outdone.
Now a broken knight, nowhere to turn.
Shades of grey, black and white never return.
I had to survive in this new world.
But I was a soldier trained for war.
A mercenary I became, wrath unfurled.
I killed without care I was a paladin no more.
